Werts concept was to start a family tradition.
"My son and I represent the third and fourth generations
of riders in our family. Starting in the early to mid 1930's. The
photo is from my Grandparents honeymoon in 1937. It is my desire to keep
the tradition going and show respect for the man who started it...MY
Grandfather, and name sake...Frank Werts. And the pretty girl riding
with him, my Grandmother Alice Werts."
This project will have his grand parents riding their bike through the America Flag landscape across his fairing. So it begings The fairing sprayed white by Progressive Auto Body in White Lake. Applying a spray mask to the fairing. Good to go. layout of the original study for placement tighten up study of stars drawing the design onto the spray mask Next transferring the stars to the mask. Now the stencil material is cut open ready for masking and painting. Newspaper masking to prevent over spray. The basic blue and some
highlights sprayed and the stencil Newspaper masking ready to spray red Red and blue sprayed with some shading. each
star will have pattering much like a woven Now with the flag completed we are ready for the next step (the printing). The copy was silk screened directly onto the surface of the fairing. The grandparents, who started this tradition, their names are added in flag blue color. The process of mounting the Grandparents graphic. This is now completed and ready for a clear coat.
