This piece was brought
to me by mom and dad to be restored for their newly married
daughter, who had had a special relationship with her grandmother from
who's estate this piece had come from. This piece had serious
delamination of the veneer as well as the plywood of the tabletop.
The tabletop was warped and oxidized as well. Much of the original
finish had flaked off and some sort of quickie restorations finish had
been put on haphazardly. The end result of carefully scraping all the
old finishes off and the application of oils and waxes and diligent hand
buffing produced a true treasured antiques look.
